💧 Today, to mark the #WorldWaterDay, we are part of the UN’s call to #BeTheChange through projects that have a positive impact. 🌎 Our example comes from #Bolivia, where we co-finance the Multipurpose Drinking #Water and Irrigation Program for the Municipalities of Batallas, Pucarani and El Alto, in the Katari watershed. This project helps communities to adapt to the reduced water availability, through action plans with focus on #WaterManagement and #Agriculture. 🔹 The Katari... basin is part of the entire Lake Titicaca Basin system with an incomparable environmental and cultural value for Bolivia and the Andean region. It is a basin with a productive vocation, mostly #indigenous population, dedicated to camelid breeding and small-scale irrigation. It also contains one of the cities with the highest population growth in Latin America, the city of El Alto. 🔹 #ClimateChange has shown an increase in extreme phenomena such as frosts, droughts and floods in #LatinAmerica and #Caribbean. Efforts are urgently needed to protect and maintain natural ecosystems such as #wetlands. 💧 Read more about the project in #Bolivia: https://bit.ly/3JClKxD Inter-American Development Bank Climate Investment Funds
